On Thursday, when I found this spot while visiting I was welcomed by smiling faces and delicious espresso that woke me up and energized me for the day ahead. On Friday, I drove out of my way to grab a delicious breakfast wrap with a Mayan Mocha to get my day going. Saturday came and went with my longing for quality coffee leading me to once again visit this coffee house turned concert at night (there is a quaint stage in the sitting area). Then on Sunday, with one day left to this work trip I once again journeyed to grab an excellent cup of joe but was devastated to see that it was closed on Sundays!!!!! I will miss this coffee house. The service is friendly, the coffee and espresso drinks are outstanding, the setting is comfortable, and they boast and excellent breakfast and lunch menu for those who look to combine a coffee break and meal when working. Until next time!

Oh Mugs... Mugs, Mugs, Mugs, Mugs, Mugs. Although you are in the Argenta District (Which is nowhere near my neighborhood) I still make the trek. You're local. I enjoy your coffee, your menu, your service, the local art on the walls, and the art that the owners have collected as well. I enjoy the way you and your family of a team makes me feel oh-so-welcome when I'm here. The clean lines draw you in at first. The wood tables and chairs, though rustic, have just enough modern to them. I'm so relaxed when I'm within these walls, but I digress. But you want to hear about the rest. So here it goes... If you're a fan, and I'm sure you are... (and if not you will be...) Then you're probably trying to make your way through the menu one item at a time like I am. At the moment I've had the Breakfast Tacos, yum. They're spicy because of the jalapeno relish (which uses fresh jalapenos adding to the kick). I've also had the Smoked Salmon Club, double yum. What my palette remembers most is the smoke of the salmon, and the clean taste of the lemon and dill mayo at the finish. The food is great! I can't wait to try more, and more, and more. As far as coffee goes it's superb! I mean very delicious. I've had The Cuban every time, and it's exactly what I'm looking for in my coffee. Equal parts espresso, condensed, and steamed milk... Yum again, and again. Oh Mugs... Continue to do what you do, please? Don't change, and if you do, I know you'll change for the better.

Wow. There's an actual coffee shop now in Little Rock. Really tasty, fair-priced coffee and food in a hip location. The inside is cool too. My cup of black Guatemalan coffee was awesome, much better than anything you can find around Little Rock, including Guillermo's, Dogtown, Sufficient Grounds, et al. My breakfast bagel was awesome! On top of that the entire staff was friendly, talkative, and very helpful. Now my go-to spot in LR after a single visit.

Here's how you do coffee the right way. No fancy coffee sizes or overly pretentious coffee items on the board. This place is filled with people who genuinely care about the coffee experience and enjoy the local market movement sweeping Little Rock. I highly suggest trying this place out for yourself to test my review. As for me, I'm going to enjoy finishing my coffee and this amazing lemon pie.

Mugs Cafe is the newest addition to the quickly growing Argenta Arts District, AKA downtown North Little Rock. Located conveniently on Main Street, Mugs has a wonderful atmosphere, the most enjoyable of any coffee shop I've been to in Central Arkansas. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and both the food and drink are excellent! They usually offer multiple brewed coffees on tap, the best I've had in Arkansas, as well as pour overs and pretty much any espresso concoction one would need as well, the highlight being the Cuban coffee, a delicious mixture of fresh espresso, steamed milk and sweetened condensed milk and served either hot or over ice. Both the breakfast and the lunch food options are also very well thought out and always being added to. Everything is unique and delicious, for breakfast try the Wayfaring Slider, a breakfast biscuit of sorts featuring sausage, a fried egg and a grits patty. It may sound odd but it works beautifully! Upon entering, Mugs makes you feel at home and you may end up wanting to stay a while! If all of the restaurants and coffee shops in Central Arkansas were like Mugs we'd be a foodie paradise! Check it out!

Food, Price and Ambiance were just right. Top Score! Great place for breakfast or lunch.

Went here Thur.10/17 . Tried the Cuban was really good may be a little sweet for some but thought it was great. Wife had the mocha white chocolate she really liked it. Also shared the breakfast tacos EXCELLENT! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hopefully it will improve with time. Waited over 45 minutes for my sliced turkey sliders, which turned out to be cold cuts on hard rolls. Frustrated & underwhelmed.

Well worth the walk over the bridge from downtown. Excellent espresso with a delicious chocolate muffin. I will definitely be back!

I stopped in here based on Yelp reviews and I agree that this place is great! I ordered a mocha frappuccino and the cranberry turkey sliders. The frappuccino had lots of good coffee flavor and the sliders were amazing with turkey, bacon, cranberry jelly, lettuce, and mayo. It was a little pricey at $15, but everything was really good. Another bonus was that my sliders were served with apple slices instead of chips or fries, so I didn't feel too gross after eating everything.

Really love this place, but the service today was subpar, unfortunately. The guy behind the counter was extremely rude and because of that I won't be back again. Though I will miss their drinks and food, I also come for the atmosphere, which was really a disappointing experience.

Fabulous stop on our journey. Had breakfast. Excellent drip coffee, tasty muffins (rich chocolate, best blueberry I've ever had), 3 egg omelet made to order was delicious. 7 in our group - but easily found a large table for all of us. $60 for the group felt like a reasonable breakfast cost for such quality food. Sorry we don't live close enough to enjoy regularly.

  • Paul O.

Had the chicken chipotle wrap. At first I asked what the side was the lady replied "grapes". I was kinda fearing the worst thinking it was gonna be some hippy junk lol. But I can honestly it was the wrap I have ever had and the grapes actually fit the meal very well. If I could give you guys ten stars I would!!!!!!

Excellent little coffee shop in a cool spot. Great coffee and food reasonably priced. Tons of comfy seating and cool art to boot. I usually get an iced coffee and have never experienced a miss. Desserts galore and the ability to get breakfast whenever will keep me coming back.

  • Brendan M.

Nothing special that I could discern. Biscuits and gravy came out cold, bagel sandwich was lacking in both the flavor of the bagel and toppings. Coffee was good but nothing special. I think there are many better options in LR but it wasn't terrible either.

  • Ming L.

Food is great here. I had the veggie omelet and hubby had the biscuit and gravy. Surprised the omelet is so good. Hubby loved his biscuit and gravy and very satisfy about the meal. We ordered a pancake to share. The pancake is fluffy and delicious! Decor is unique and chic. The food is at reasonable price too.

In Little Rock for business and I stopped here EVERY morning!!! They're Cuban and Breakfast Burritos are absolutely fan-freakin-tastic. I live in Portland, OR and know a little something about coffee shops and these guys have something great going here in Little Rick. Staff are super friendly, food is cooked to order with some fresh and great tasting ingredients. If I'm back in Arkansas you can sure bet I will be back here!

  • Lindsay S.

Great laid-back atmosphere and good, well-executed coffee. I had the Cuban and it was amazing, my friend had an Americano that she really enjoyed. Definitely worth visiting, it's a nice coffee shop in an interesting area of North Little Rock. Also note that it IS child-friendly (good for me since I have a 2.5 year old) and has a kid-sized table and chairs and games/toys available in the back room near the restrooms. Stop by for a Cuban or two, you won't be disappointed!

    Two words: Pancake. Breakfast.

  • Lafe C.

Food is great, coffee is good, ambience is spectacular! The only thing keeping this from a five star is the attitude of employees and speed of service.

  • Tracy D.

Very good veggie omelette! Loved the cafe con miel! Also had really urban atmosphere!

The food was excellent. Very pleased with service. Has a great atmosphere good for groups, kids, and college students.

Great little gem in little rock. If we had one of these in Memphis we'd eat breakfast here every weekend. Food is absolutely amazing. You must try this place!

    (5)
  • Zach N.

Awesome coffee joint. Had many options and the drip coffee was good. The food portions are smaller than I would have liked and they ran out of many of the items on the menu. Great place to do work/read and have a latte not so much to get full on breakfast.

    (3)
  • Sharon L.

Coffees great: good blends, smooth, great quality. The food's really great too. I love the chorizo omelette with spinach and pepper jack and the tacos. My husband loves the burger. Staff is always welcoming. It's great to see a local coffee shop thrive in a Starbucks dominated community. Will of course be back!

  • Jared M.

I never write reviews, but needed to write one for this place. Good atmosphere. Cool decor. But very uninviting. The workers seemed to be more focused on their personal problems than serving us and welcoming their guests. Which would probably explain why when I asked for a bacon, sausage, and cheese omelet, they gave me an omelet with everything on it. (While up charging me) The cappuccino was mediocre at best. It was very bitter and not smooth at all. I felt like I paid a pretty penny for mediocre coffee and food to people who seemed as if they could care less about my experience at mugs cafe. Not impressed. Management take note.

    (3)
  • Andy P.

Love it! I come all the time. Consistent experience and the food is great. The coffee is good. I do wish they would offer more bean/roast types and options/suggestions for brewing them (aeropress/beehouse/French Press/etc...) because we need a place like that in LR. But I love this place, and I won't stop coming any time soon.

    (5)
  • Taron B.

When I looked at the menu I thought to myself "This place is very inexpensive" after eating biscuits and gravy I thought "This place is unbelievably inexpensive". It's very clean and friendly. Art work on the walls and the coffee is great. Nicely done, Mugs!

  • Emily C.

We came here for brunch in little rock and I must say the staff is really nice and willing to help and the food is phenomenal. The atmosphere is really chilled out and quiet as well. The staff was more than willing to make suggestions on what we should order. We loved it! We will be coming back!

  • Cristie T.

Must try the turkey sliders, prime dip sandwich, and omelette. All day breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and the best coffee in town. Food tasted fresher when they first opened, but still good and still the best coffee in town.

Great coffee, great oj, great food, and a great environment. This place does an awesome job!

    (5)
  • Lisa D.

Great coffee! I had the breakfast tacos with sausage - minus the cilantro. They were excellent! My dining companions each had the burritos and raved about them. Restaurant atmosphere was casual and is a very well designed/thought out space. Very easy to hang out in after a walk from the River Market. Don't live locally, but wish we did! It would be nice to have a local place like this to haunt!

    (5)
  • Margaret J.

They had nice decor and it's good to see locally owned businesses populate the Argenta District. However, there was a man proselytizing to the cafe's customers. The staff weren't doing it, but I felt as though they should have handled the man who was making customers visibly uncomfortable.

Breakfast all day, which is always a plus for me. Omelet is awesome, and so is the coffee. I always order the Mayan Mocha, and if you are a fan of chili + chocolate, you will love it as well. Lunch menu is fair, not too expansive, but everything on the menu does taste fresh and well-prepared, plus cooked to order, so the burger will take just a few minutes. Their sides, which is usually fruit, may throw you off if you intend on fries with your burger, but don't let that discourage you. Chicken tacos are definitely my favorite item on the menu, but I've yet to try everything, and the coffee always keeps me coming back. Very relaxing environment too, despite being on Main St in North Little Rock. Couches, chairs, and reclaimed wood tables make the setting feel relaxed. For the price, a lot of items leave a little to be desired, but for a coffee shop that serves an awesome breakfast and happens to have a good lunch menu, it doesn't bother me at all.

  • Drew G.

Neat coffee shop for sure. Great interior design and excellent assortment of different brewing methods from pour over to cold brew. Nicely made latte and the omelet was excellent. I own a coffee shop and enjoyed the details. Unfortunately the staff on shift 3-14-15 were not customer friendly at all. Did not try and engage our group or ask where we were from. Did not thank us for coming in or say "have a nice day" despite the fact we spent $12-$15 per person.

  • Tasha R.

I had the cranberry turkey sliders. They were delicious! The turkey has an excellent smoked taste and the flavors compliment each other well.

  • Linda M.

Maybe I was just grumpy when I wrote my last review. Honestly, this coffee shop is a fabulous place. The service is excellent; the ambience is perfect, and the food is really great. Love to go there for a light breakfast and relaxing atmosphere.

  • Hollan B.

Ordered breakfast tacos, biscuits and gravy and two Cubans. Good tacos and the sauce/salsa on the side made them great. Biscuits and gravy were good. Coffees were excellent. Farmers market was going on across the street too....nice to grab some coffee and then stroll the market.

  • Gil G.

Nice location, but disappointed in the coffee and the customer service. I ordered a latte and the espresso & milk were separated and very aerated. It actually tasted bad. Nice building & vibe, but I'm not sure how well implemented the place is. I have been back twice to give it a chance. While their brewed coffee is better than their espresso, the customer service hasn't changed. I feel unwelcome and out of place: coffeeshops are supposed to be friendly and inviting.

  • Laura F.

I had a bagel breakfast sandwich and a cup of black tea. Both were really good. The service was good. I love the art on the walls and general vibe of the place. Would eat there again.

    (5)
  • Lara S.

I had the breakfast tacos but with no cheese. I am obsessed with the hot sauce they used, spicy and unlike anything I've had before. I loved the ambiance and the decor, if you want a relaxing atmosphere come here for a coffee and some good eats. The Mayan mocha was different than what I've had at other cafés but still pretty good. Tacos are the highlight for me!

  • Brian G.

This place is a hipster paradise. I had one of biggest cappuccinos I have ever seen! My burrito was good, even against my standards as an Arizonan. The only drawback was speed of service could be improved.

  • Trish B.

Wonderful staff, wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food and coffee. Literally the best food around. I got an omelette, boyfriend got pork tacos. We both liked what we got so much we didn't want to share. Vanilla frap is so creamy. Delicious.

  • Karsten W.

Cool atmosphere and great food! Very clean and most of their menu items are pretty healthy. I've only had just their regular coffee (which is good too) but can't comment on the other varieties. Definitely worth checking out!

  • Ika M.

We were road tripping cross country and trying to kill time in LR before restaurants and shops opened. This was a great find. I got the greek yoghurt, cappuccino, and fresh OJ. Everything was well crafted, reasonably priced, and delicious. It was just what we needed as a pick me up. The vibe in Mugs was fantastic. Lots of different seating options available to choose from. The staff seems to care about the place and were kind. We stayed for ~2hrs and we didn't see many people leave so it may be difficult to stag a table/couch if you show up after breakfast. Oh well, just plop down with a stranger?

  • Noah H.

Wonderful open space, if you're looking for a coffee shop to grab a coffee and/or a small pastry (the blueberry scones rock) and sit down for a cram session or catch-up chat, this is your place! It's out of the way (unless you're in North Little Rock already) which is part of the charm, even at its fullest, it never gets too crowded to find a table (and there are a lot of tables!) **They get a down mark for me for closing early (6pm) which hurts the place as a true relax & hangout spot

    (4)
  • Kristine N.

Service is a little on the slow side but they're pretty friendly and there's plenty of room to sit down while waiting. Ordered a chai tea and a chicken wrap to go and both were really good. The chicken wrap had some sort of chipotle dressing which was delicious. Came with a side of grapes. Very healthy and clean place.

Favorite breakfast in Little Rock. Breakfast burrito is out of this world, as are the breakfast tacos. Fresh tasting and great coffee. Will be returning...regularly!

We had passed this place in Argenta before but barely gave it a second glance. We saw the coffee shop sign but we also saw the church sign out front and just thought it was one of those church coffee shops But when we read reviews, we decided to give it a try for Saturday brunch. The food was good. My husband had biscuits and gravy and they were good. Maybe not the best I've ever tried but good and had plenty of sausage in the gravy. I had a french dip and it was good. I think I'd rather have fries on the side or even chips but it comes with what appears to be bagged apple slices. (Apples without seeds and cores just aren't natural, sorry.) Our table mates had the omelets. They looked really good and you get to create your own (whatever you want in them). They aren't typical fluffy egg omeletes, which I hate. I think I'll try them next time. We enjoyed the food, but the Maya Mocha was the highlight. Coffee, chocolate, and cayenne. Can't go wrong with that combo! Must try. The downsides: We arrived at around 9:00 AM on Saturday and the line was crazy. We waited in line probably 15 minutes. When we ordered we were told the wait for our food would be 20 minutes. It was really a bit longer. But when we got our food, there was nobody in line. So, don't go at 9:00. Maybe wait till 10:00 and there wouldn't have been a wait today. They were out of pancakes at 9:30. Who runs out of pancakes at 9:30? That has to mean that they are not made to order which is disturbing. But go early if you have your heart set on all you can eat pancakes. You have to bus your own tables. And $10 for a french dip that does not come with fries or chips. The prices are a big part of the reason that I didn't give them 5 stars. There aren't nearly enough tables for the crowd. We sat in back at a huge table with a bunch of strangers but that was fun. It gave us someone to talk to while we waited. But if you are looking for a private corner table, there aren't many. The art is cool. The atmosphere is nice. The staff is friendly. The restaurant is clean. We will definitely return for breafast again. But next we are visiting at lunch. We saw a half lb burger on the menu with avocado and bacon and a fried egg...... gonna split one. Looks like a must try!

Definitely my favorite cafe in the Little Rock area. Last time I asked they were using Bongo Java beans (a Nashville roaster) -- not my favorite in the South but definitely the most consistent quality roasts you'll find around Little Rock. They offer a wide variety of brewing options and their regular drip is excellent. Highlights include a bottomless cup for $4, the Cuban (essentially a ca phe us da), AYCE pancakes on Saturdays, and the breakfast burrito. The latter is ridiculous. I crave it. The chorizo has a tiny bit of kick and the pepper jack and pickled onions make it an exceptional meal. I never thought I'd crave a burrito in any form from Arkansas...but this one stole my heart. Proved. Wrong. It'll run you $6 and it's worth every penny.

This place was wonderful! The service was outstanding and everything we had was good and very fresh. I wish they were in Fort Worth! If I am in Little Rock again I will definitely go back here!

When my daughter and son- in- law come into town from Virginia, this is the place we always come for a nice, afternoon outing for good coffee, a light meal and a relaxing place to visit.

Really wanted to like this place. It's closer for me then most similar venues. A Starbucks alternative with a real menu. A Modern, hip place with huge tables to spread out and lots of comfy couches and chairs. But.... Two small chicken tacos and some grapes were $8. The smoked salmon club sandwich and some grapes was $10. Neither was great. The wayfaring slider (breakfast sandwich) was so so at $5. Iced tea was cheap and weak. $1.50. Chocolate milkshake was good $4. Chai Latte was not a powdered mix and not Oregon Chai (Pacific) for $4.25. It took all of this to feed two moderately hungry middle aged adults for lunch, and the service was friendly but for these prices I'd expect to have my food brought out to the table and to not bus my own space. Total: $34.25+tax.

First off, the good: this place gets five stars for decor; I absolutely love the look of the place. It's the kind of coffee shop you would want chill at reading a book or working on a paper. The bad: customer service was a bit flat, and it took forever to get a to-go order. My order was a coffee drink called cream la something or other (a expresso with steamed milk, honey and cinnamon) and a bakery item that was already on the shelf... I guess they were just really busy? Coffee was ok, it had a nice flavor but it did not make too much of a lasting impression. I did not care too much for the blueberry scone, it was a bit to heavy (as opposed posed to flakey) for me. Overall I don't think the wait was worth it to-go, but I could see it being fine if your going to stick around. Last thing... I know this is no reflection on the coffee shop, but to the two people in front of me that asked for a military discount, you are the worst type of people. On hearing them ask this, I asked what service they were in, and the awkwardly stammered they weren't, but their friend was... Umm ok? So I went to go ask their friend how the base nearby was, she said she wasn't in the military. So, these people try to ask for a military discount (which they don't have btw) are not even remotely related the military, ON MEMORIAL DAY, are some cheap a** people, and rude to boot. Shame on you, stolen valor bull hockey right there.

Such a nice place to have coffee and breakfast. Great atmosphere and a very courteous staff. The decor with reclaimed lumber tables is awesome. If you are ever in Little Rock Arkansas and want a nice breakfast and a chance to relax for a bit, this is a great place for it. Not far from the Verizon Arena. Enjoy!

Stopped by this little gem on our trek across the country on I-40. Free wifi and by far one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had! I'm a picky eater, love whole foods, good flavor and I typically don't like that thousand island looking sauce. .... I got the burger as is and oohhh man, amazeballs! My honey got the 3 egg omelet he says it was Deeellish! You gotta try this place!

  • Cory W.

Had their burger to nurse a hangover and boy was it magical. My less hung over friend agreed so it must be true. So juicy you are gonna need extra napkins. And if you are one of those feel guilty after eating a giant burger types ( I am not one of those people) it is served with a side of fruit as well to help you justify eating it. :)

Wandered into this place when we had no plans. Couldn't have been luckier. The food was outstanding and served quickly. My wife had the smoked salmon sand which and thought it was outstanding. I had the chipotle chicken wrap and it was also very good. I will be back for sure.

This quietly hidden spot is conveniently located in Main St of downtown Little Rock. The coffee has lots of sitting space with large tables, couches for more comfy & personal seating, and single chairs good for a book read. The tables are of dark wood, walls with wood decor; there's an earthy vibe to the spot. The decor is simplistic and quaint. There's a small stage for live music or poetry reading. Actually not sure about poetry reading for I was passing by while on a trip back to Dallas, but seems ideal. The service was fine. Friendly and patient. The limited menu offered a variety of flavorful items like fish tacos, BLT, French toast, rueben, etc. The coffee is one size served in a big mug. There's a great limited selection of coffees-I tried Mayan Mocha. Oh yes, WiFi available. There is water available in mason cups-I found this neat!

Love, love, love Mugs Caffe. Great coffee and specialty drinks and my my my how about that Chocolate Muffin. Dense rich chocolate with a (when warm) gooey center. The chicken and pork tacos are most excellent for lunch and Saturdays it's all you can eat Pancakes for $5.

Absolutely loved this little cafe. We were traveling and got stuck in NLR because of a ice storm. They were one of the handful of places we found open. Had a Cuban sandwich, absolutely divine. Only complaint would be that they didn't offer refills on their regular coffee.

  • Spice T.

Great art great music warm staff and wonderful coffee. The ambience changes from front to back - business in front, lounge in the middle and playroom in the back. The coffee is the best, and the grilled cheese with a fresh OJ. I'm a frequent flyer and have my rewards card - will be here often.

One of my favorite places to work in Little Rock. Great neverending coffee, delicious food (breakfast tacos are SO DELICIOUS), reliable wifi, always interesting local art, and a playlist that my alternative high school self could die for (Modest Mouse, Brand New, whatever melodic alt rock or indie you remember from the early 2000s). Must visit this place!

I discovered this place last year while on a searching-for-new-things-to-do-in-town kind of weekend. It is located in Argenta, which is an up-and-coming neighborhood surrounded by what was previously an industrial zone. It has an industrial and modern look inside, which I love and we lack in Little Rock. I think I have tried everything on the menu and have not found anything I don't like. I tend to gravitate towards their egg-centered dishes and the Mayan cafe :-) Pastries are good, but I would not qualified them as out of this world. I think they are box mixes and lack originality. It is great place to meet with friends for breakfast or lunch, or to come by yourself and people watch and perhaps make new friends.
